FAQs
Benz Construction
Who owns and operates Benz Construction?
Travis and Shelby Blattner own and operate Benz Construction as a 100% family-run business. Travis established the company in 2017 after gaining construction experience from his father and uncles. The business has no outside investors, private equity partners, or corporate ownership. Travis serves as the hands-on owner-operator and remains directly involved in every project.Where does Benz Construction serve?
Benz Construction provides services throughout Central Texas, from Austin to Temple. Our main coverage area includes Williamson County communities such as Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Leander, Hutto, Pflugerville, and Taylor, as well as Travis County including Austin and South Austin, Bell County, and western Milam County locations like Thorndale and Rockdale. We also work in the growing Elgin and Manor areas. Reach out to confirm service availability in your specific location. How long has Benz Construction been in business?
Travis Blattner founded Benz Construction in 2017. We have spent more than eight years building and remodeling homes throughout Central Texas. Our completed work includes custom home construction, kitchen and bathroom remodels, home additions, outdoor living areas, and both interior and exterior renovations.Does Benz Construction come to my home, or do I need to visit a showroom?
We travel directly to your location. Benz Construction operates as a mobile service, with Travis and the team meeting clients at their homes or project sites throughout Central Texas. We do not maintain a showroom. All projects start with an in-person consultation at your property.Does Benz Construction use subcontractors?
We rely on our own employees and established crew members for all work. Rather than bidding out each trade to different contractors, we maintain consistent teams for each specialty. Our painters, tile installers, and plumbers remain the same throughout your project. This approach means you work with familiar professionals from beginning to end, not different subcontractors at each phase. Is Benz Construction involved in the local community?
Travis and Shelby Blattner maintain active involvement across all of Central Texas. They provide mentorship through 4-H and FFA programs, support area schools, and donate to children's hospital initiatives. Community participation forms an integral part of Benz Construction's business practices, not simply a promotional statement.Does Benz Construction build fully custom homes, or do you work from set floor plans?
Benz Construction offers both options. We can create completely custom construction plans designed around your specific requirements, or we can build from pre-designed plans you select and purchase. Our services cover full custom homes, semi-custom projects, and spec homes across all of Central Texas. What is the general process for building a custom home with Benz Construction?
Custom home construction begins with an on-site meeting to review your goals, budget, and schedule. The process then progresses through design development, permit acquisition, site work, foundation installation, framing, mechanical system installation, and finish work. Travis maintains direct involvement at each stage to verify quality standards. Schedule your initial consultation by contacting us.What does it cost to build a custom home across all of Central Texas right now?
Construction costs across all of Central Texas currently range from $195 to $225 per square foot. Benz Construction operates on a cost-plus structure at cost plus 15%. We purchase all materials directly rather than having trades supply them, which eliminates trade markups and reduces overall expenses compared to many builders' pricing models. Your actual cost will vary based on design choices, site characteristics, and selected finishes. How long does it take to build a custom home?
Custom home construction generally requires six to 12 months from start to finish. Variables such as permit processing times in Williamson, Travis, or Bell counties, material availability, and site-specific challenges can influence this timeframe.
